<Features>
The sapwood and heartwood are clearly separated, the sapwood being grayish white and the heartwood being yellowish brown. The annual rings are clear and shiny. The material is somewhat heavy and hard, and has excellent moisture resistance and durability. On the other hand, it takes a considerable amount of time for the drying time to subside.

As one of the best hardwoods in Japan, it has been widely used as construction material, furniture material, fittings material, and fixture material since ancient times. It was particularly important in the construction of temples and shrines, and was also used as the main breadwinner for farmers.

*Please specify "cross type" when purchasing at a stationery store. The spring is not attached to the refill. Please be careful not to lose it. To replace the lead, remove it by pulling it from side to side centering on the pen fittings. Turn the black knob refill slightly to the right and remove it.
