Utilizing the techniques and materials of traditional Japanese crafts, we mainly produce writing instruments and small miscellaneous goods in order to convey the gentleness of handmade products. Feel the warmth and fragrance of natural wood, a blessing of nature, and touch the elegant and beautiful Mino washi/Yuzen paper made with the clear water of the Nagara River.

1981 Japanese calligraphy brush craftsman born in Mie Prefecture (calligraphy brushes)
The traditional craft of calligraphy has been passed down from my grandfather to three generations.
Ever since he could remember, he had admired being a brush craftsman, and after graduating from high school, he became an apprentice to his uncle and learned. As soon as I got married, I changed jobs to a stable office worker.
Even after changing jobs, he was unable to give up on his career as a craftsman, and began making prototype brushes from scratch through self-teaching. One day, while searching the internet to study turning, he came across a ballpoint pen, which led him to start making pens.

After working in the apparel industry for 25 years, I found it very rewarding to return to Gifu and work with traditional Japanese craftsmen to promote Gifu's local culture.
When I was little, I often went to Uesugi Mokuzai, a long-established lumber store in town. The scent of wood calmed me down. This idea became the starting point for our current product development.
We will continue to make use of local resources and create products that convey the charm of the local area.
